The annual Centre for Distance Education conference has a remit of looking at new directions and developments in distance learning, informed by the Centre’s Teaching and Research Awards scheme. This has seen more than forty five projects funded within this area and is characterised by its multi-disciplinary nature, engaging researchers from the arts, social and natural sciences, medicine and the humanities, most of whom are also distance-learning practitioners working within the University of London.
