Teaching and Research Awards 2014

hand drawing on paper "new idea"We are pleased to announce that proposals are now being accepted for the next round of UK and International Teaching and Research Awards (TRA) funding for 2014.

The TRA scheme provides support original pedagogic research studies that explore innovative practice in the areas of open and distance teaching and assessment, and the use of technology-enhanced learning to support effective practice.

UK Teaching and Research Awards

Applications are welcome from any staff member involved in the planning and/or the delivery of distance learning at either undergraduate or postgraduate levels within the University of London. Applications may be from individuals or groups within or across Colleges.  Collaborative projects between staff from University of London and other institutions are welcome

Awards have a value of up to £5000. We expect to approve four such awards in this round.  Full details and the application form for proposals can be downloaded below:

International Teaching and Research Awards

World map 2The international TRA 2014 scheme is open to submissions from recognised teaching institutions of the University of London International Programmes, or submissions from University of London lead Colleges with direct links to recognised teaching institutions internationally.

The awards will have a value of up to £3,000 each.  We expect to approve three such awards in this round.

General information

Priority in the current rounds will be given to:

  • Proposals surrounding the themes of design for learning, assessment and feedback, enhancing the student experience and future technology.
  • Proposals that support the University of London International Programmes’ strategy, including: student access, progression and retention, achievement; programme development; technological capability and innovation (e.g. scalable student assessment technologies, open access education, MOOCs and online courses, learning analytics); working with institutions at a distance; and the dissemination of good practice.

The closing date for applications is Friday 13 December 2013 at 5pm (GMT).
