RESEARCH IN DISTANCE EDUCATION

The Centre for Distance Education (CDE) hosts an annual Research in Distance Education conference at Senate House, University of London looking at new directions and developments in distance learning.   As part of the CDE’s promotion of research in distance education the Centre’s ‘Teaching and Research Awards Scheme’ has funded more than forty five projects within this area.  The scheme is characterised by its multi-disciplinary nature, engaging researchers from the arts, social and natural sciences, medicine and the humanities, most of whom are also distance-learning practitioners working within the University of London.

Conferences have a strong research focus that incorporates the latest outputs from the CDE’s programme of Teaching and Research Awards.  They feature keynote speakers from pedagogic or practical backgrounds, seminars and workshops and an opportunity to network within an audience comprising practitioners and researchers across the University of London and beyond.
